Spring Fever

24 Mar 2014 Posted by Lucy in Inspirations, Life

it’s ALL about the little things

It’s SPRING ladies! That means more birds singing and plenty of flowers blooming. Personally, I’d have to say that of all things spring, my favorite part about this season is that I am always reminded to take a moment to stop and smell the roses.

As I’m sure most of you have heard this saying, how many have actually taken the time to stop and smell a rose? Better yet, do we even really know how to? Of course, I don’t mean this literally. The saying is more like a metaphor; a reminder that we should appreciate and enjoy the smaller things in life that often go unnoticed. To be able to do this is something beautiful, eye-opening, and extravagant!

IN ORDER TO TRULY APPRECIATE THE SMALLER THINGS, you have to make sure to take every opportunity to do so and truly understand what it means to do so. For example, let’s talk about traffic (wait, did she just say traffic?) Yes, I did! And here’s why…the next time you are stuck in traffic, focus some attention on the little things that are good about the situation. I’m not saying to see it as a symphony of red lights, but there is likely something good you can find about it. I know people who have sat in traffic and still drive right past their destinations just because their favorite song starts playing on the radio (of course, it’s always crucial to keep your focus on the road, but you get the idea…)

Try taking a moment for yourself right now to think about the little things that make you happy in life. Make a list so that you don’t forget these moments to appreciate!

Here is a small list I made to help get you started! Feel free to add any of these to your own if they apply!

*Chocolate bars, PETS, all green lights, crossing off the last thing on your to-do list, CAR WASHES FROM THE RAIN, an act of kindness, when heels DON’T hurt, being the first person to notice a rainbow, a helpful Siri when you’ve taken the wrong exit, FUZZY SOCKS, treating yourself to some wine-flavored ice cream (yes, that really exists!)

This season, just remember, ladies:

“Enjoy the little things in life because one day you will look back and realize that they were the big things! ” – RLT

International Women’s Day

07 Mar 2014 Posted by Lucy in Life

A Celebration Of All

March 8th is International Women’s Day! A day where we not only celebrate the monumental achievements of women regarding economic, political, and social issues; but also recognize even the smallest acts of kindness that have made a world of difference in our lives.

On this International Women’s Day (and every day!), we want to celebrate all of the women who have inspired us. Whether it’s a friend, mother, co-worker, or whoever – think about someone who has particularly inspired you. This might be someone who has believed in you or led you to believe in yourself. It might even be someone you have seen achieve and succeed. Let that person know just how much they mean to you this International Women’s Day by showing your appreciation through a simple act of kindness.

There is no need to stress or worry about doing something extravagant and perfect because even the smallest acts of kindness will do. Taking the woman who inspires you out to lunch at her favorite spot, buying her a latte, or simply having a movie night with some popcorn and laughs will do just fine. Appeal to her interests and let her know that she means a lot to you. You can celebrate with one person or even a group of your favorite gals – it’s up to you! Showing your appreciation could truly brighten someone’s day;)

TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY this year to inspire, thank, and celebrate the remarkable women in your life. It doesn’t just have to be on International Women’s Day, it can be on any day and every day. Perhaps you can even make a routine to see this person once or twice a week. It’s always good to be surrounded by people who make you feel happy. However you choose to celebrate, we hope it brings plenty of joy.

We want to take this opportunity to say an extra special thank you to all of the wonderful women who have inspired us, encouraged us, shaped us, and motivated us throughout our lives. They have paved our way towards a better future and have shown us to never settle for anything other than the best.

Women Sponsoring Women

14 Feb 2014 Posted by Lucy in Inspirations, RED Women

How helping others brings us happiness

As women, we tend to often lend a helping hand to others. (What can we say, it’s in our nature!) With Valentine’s Day here, we want to put an emphasis on all of the love and support that has both healed and bonded so many women because of such acts of kindness. Alone, women are independent and strong, but together, they have the ability to empower and remind each another of their potential for greatness.

WHEN WE CHOOSE TO HELP ONE ANOTHER, we find in ourselves a gratification that is greater than anything that can come from other worldly fixations. Being a rock for others not only allows us to learn more about ourselves but it also lets us take part in a chain reaction for the greater good. There is always an opportunity for kindness and there are so many ways that women can help carry one other in times of need.

One way that women can support each other is through sponsorship. Finding ways to help local businesses that carry similar traits to your own is a great way to start a support system. Doing so can allow you to make positive connections and help spread the word about what you have to offer, all while helping and inspiring others to do what they LOVE.

One thing that we very strongly believe, however, is that sponsoring other women does not mean that you have to take out your checkbook. To sponsor can also mean to support. There are countless ways you can help others, whether it be by volunteering in your community, joining organizations, or even being there for a friend who is already dear to you. Not only will you be there for those who need it the most, but you will also be making a world of difference.

This Valentine’s Day remember that love can be defined as much more than romance. Love is friendship, togetherness, and support. LOVE IS WHERE COMPASSION SHOWS and where women link together to accomplish something far greater than what we already think is the greater good.

We would like to say an extra special *thank you* to RED Lip Talk’s very own sponsors for our upcoming 2014 Boudoir event this Sunday…Brittany @ BrittRene Photo, Noel @ Hey Saylor Cosmetics, Emily @ Stella & Dot, and others! Because of our wonderful supporters {YOU}, we have been able to accomplish so much! Thank you ladies!

Happy Valentine’s Day to you all!

A Celebration of Timeless Women

07 Feb 2014 Posted by Lucy in Inspirations, Life

She believed she could, so she did.

All of our limitations in life are set by what we believe we can do. If a woman believes she will hit the target, she will aim high and she will succeed.

As women, we share a togetherness; a bond that empowers us and gives us the strength to not only persevere, but also pursue. When times are rough, it can be hard to feel this strength, but it is important to remember that you are never alone in your struggle. Through our many different journeys in life, we as women find our own exceptional ways to conquer and stand tall and true.

Every single woman is strong; there is no doubt about it, and knowing this truth can allow a unique and humble self confidence to completely envelop the woman that is you. When we tap into our confidence, we unravel our inner beauty – the most beautiful kind of beauty there is. This beauty allows us to be bold, courageous, and optimistic – it encourages us to be the women we want to be and it motivates us to achieve the highest of our goals. It is up to us to rise above any challenge presented to us and to remember that sometimes it is ok to have our own moments to shine.

Every woman deserves to be celebrated. Not just today, not just this week, or this month, but always. There’s no harm in throwing a little celebration for the wonderful person that is you. Take yourself out for a bite to eat or spend some time with the people who uplift you and make you feel the way you deserve to feel. However you choose to, choose to celebrate yourself in a way that will make you happy. Be proud of your successes and achievements and hold on to that positive energy. Continue to inspire yourself and allow yourself the freedom to do what makes you happy. Don’t ever forget that you are a woman who is absolutely, totally worth it.

This week’s 3 tips on living RED ~

ONE } Beauty starts with the heart. There is absolutely NOTHING more beautiful than a woman who exuberates self-confidence. Nothing.

TWO } Love the skin you live in. Loving yourself is one pretty useful key to happiness and only you have control over this ladies so remember the power of one’s perspective and commit to making the change or stickin’ to it;)

THREE } Celebrate YOU and your timelessness!  Everything about you is beautifully unique. The things you love to do, the jokes that make you laugh…sculpting each piece together into the person the world around you knows and adores. It’s important to celebrate and honor each and every one of those qualities. They’re what make you, YOU.

Living life for your heart and your heart’s happiness opens doors and pathways for joy, freedom, and love so listen to your heart, believe in yourself, and celebrate the beauty that only you possess.

Love & hugs always!

RED Takeaway ~ This week, go out to do something you enjoy each and every day! Watch a movie, visit a friend, send a loved one a card, no matter how big or small the act, the investment in yourself and life is worth every minute!

From Life to Art…

19 Apr 2013 Posted by Lachelle in Inspirations

Like in every girl’s life, we start out innocent with young eager hearts, ready for the world! And as we grow, we experience unfailing trials and triumphs that make us both fly and fall… sometimes even somewhat simultaneously.

But regardless of the scars, tears, and fears… we come through drenched from head-to-toe in new outlooks and appreciations; like a clear white canvas, we blossom into a piece of art for all to see.

With each stroke of a brush, we illustrate the movements of where we’ve been and what we’ve learned. From the shapes of our imagery, we carry our memories both good and bad because through it all, we are created and we are *living*. Like a a painting hung on a wall, we share our story for all to see, to take in, to reflect upon and hope that through our walk, we may inspire others.
