Spring Fever

24 Mar 2014 Posted by Lucy in Inspirations, Life

it’s ALL about the little things

It’s SPRING ladies! That means more birds singing and plenty of flowers blooming. Personally, I’d have to say that of all things spring, my favorite part about this season is that I am always reminded to take a moment to stop and smell the roses.

As I’m sure most of you have heard this saying, how many have actually taken the time to stop and smell a rose? Better yet, do we even really know how to? Of course, I don’t mean this literally. The saying is more like a metaphor; a reminder that we should appreciate and enjoy the smaller things in life that often go unnoticed. To be able to do this is something beautiful, eye-opening, and extravagant!

IN ORDER TO TRULY APPRECIATE THE SMALLER THINGS, you have to make sure to take every opportunity to do so and truly understand what it means to do so. For example, let’s talk about traffic (wait, did she just say traffic?) Yes, I did! And here’s why…the next time you are stuck in traffic, focus some attention on the little things that are good about the situation. I’m not saying to see it as a symphony of red lights, but there is likely something good you can find about it. I know people who have sat in traffic and still drive right past their destinations just because their favorite song starts playing on the radio (of course, it’s always crucial to keep your focus on the road, but you get the idea…)

Try taking a moment for yourself right now to think about the little things that make you happy in life. Make a list so that you don’t forget these moments to appreciate!

Here is a small list I made to help get you started! Feel free to add any of these to your own if they apply!

*Chocolate bars, PETS, all green lights, crossing off the last thing on your to-do list, CAR WASHES FROM THE RAIN, an act of kindness, when heels DON’T hurt, being the first person to notice a rainbow, a helpful Siri when you’ve taken the wrong exit, FUZZY SOCKS, treating yourself to some wine-flavored ice cream (yes, that really exists!)

This season, just remember, ladies:

International Women’s Day

07 Mar 2014 Posted by Lucy in Life

A Celebration Of All

March 8th is International Women’s Day! A day where we not only celebrate the monumental achievements of women regarding economic, political, and social issues; but also recognize even the smallest acts of kindness that have made a world of difference in our lives.

On this International Women’s Day (and every day!), we want to celebrate all of the women who have inspired us. Whether it’s a friend, mother, co-worker, or whoever – think about someone who has particularly inspired you. This might be someone who has believed in you or led you to believe in yourself. It might even be someone you have seen achieve and succeed. Let that person know just how much they mean to you this International Women’s Day by showing your appreciation through a simple act of kindness.

There is no need to stress or worry about doing something extravagant and perfect because even the smallest acts of kindness will do. Taking the woman who inspires you out to lunch at her favorite spot, buying her a latte, or simply having a movie night with some popcorn and laughs will do just fine. Appeal to her interests and let her know that she means a lot to you. You can celebrate with one person or even a group of your favorite gals – it’s up to you! Showing your appreciation could truly brighten someone’s day;)

TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY this year to inspire, thank, and celebrate the remarkable women in your life. It doesn’t just have to be on International Women’s Day, it can be on any day and every day. Perhaps you can even make a routine to see this person once or twice a week. It’s always good to be surrounded by people who make you feel happy. However you choose to celebrate, we hope it brings plenty of joy.

We want to take this opportunity to say an extra special thank you to all of the wonderful women who have inspired us, encouraged us, shaped us, and motivated us throughout our lives. They have paved our way towards a better future and have shown us to never settle for anything other than the best.

A Thanksgiving Reflection

28 Nov 2013 Posted by Lachelle in Inspirations, Life

my powerful blessings

There’s something about this time of year that brings more than a family holiday to the table…there’s a sudden strong sense to stop, reflect, acknowledge, and praise over one’s blessings and for the Thanksgiving holiday, I am happily surrendering to the urge;)

Though we hold deeply in our hearts the love we express during the holidays year round, day-to-day routines, schedules, and overall pulls of life can’t help but take away those precious moments of gratitude; often clogging up our minds far from what we love most. Sad right?! And unfortunately, we all do it. Luckily we can control our choices and choose to turn off the noise keeping us so far from home.

Today, I celebrate the powerful 5 blessings in my life and promise to not only praise them today, but everyday!

ONE} LOVE. I am thankful for the man in my life. As my best friend, my inspiration, my mentor, my love and husband, he pushes me everyday to be the best woman I can be…the woman he sees in me, and I am forever thankful to God above for giving me such a gift of love and support through him!

TWO} SISTERHOOD. I am thankful for the amazingly strong ladies in my corner with whom I am blessed to share in immense laughter and tears with! My beautiful BFs. These ladies of mine have all stepped in at different times and waves of my life, growing up together in new ventures and watching each other not only stumble and fall, but beautifully rise and overcome. They are my sisters of the heart and life long treasures!

THREE} INSPIRATION. I am thankful for the pure inspiration I get the glory of receiving from each of you, our RED Friends and Ladies! Whether you’ve attended one of our RED events or shared with us online, your stories, smiles, and hearts literally fuel the fire of what this journey we walk together along is all about and I’m utterly humbled EVERY DAY by your beauty inside and out!

FOUR} STRENGTH. I am thankful for the struggles, even the deep dark ones.  We don’t know why the tears and fears are happening when we are there, and not to lessen the power behind the pain, but when we do start to make the step forward towards healing, the pieces of the picture come together for an unforgettable image that shapes our hearts forever. And for everything I have ever fought through, I say very lovingly and proudly, “THANK YOU!”

FIVE} PEACE. I am thankful for the ability to forgive. No matter the issue, big or small, forgiving those whom have wronged us and brought pain is a beautiful quality. Finding the ability to release not only gives us peace but pure inspiration. By finding my peace, there’s absolutely nothing in my past that I would change! Nothing. Not because it didn’t hurt but because of the heart-felt peace I found and live out within my body and soul.

Having the above 5 blessings of my life written out shares the joy and celebrated perspective I have for each of them. I encourage you to take some time to reflect on what makes you, YOU, and celebrate all that you love most!

From my RED to yours, here’s to our thankful hearts!
